Meet LettyA caring educator and mother of fiveLeticia Virrueta trained in preschool education in Mexico and has 25 years of childcare experience. As a mother of five, she understands how important it is to find someone you trust. After 22 years at Oregon Child Development Coalition, she pursued her dream of creating her own childcare program. Inspired by her mother, who baked cakes while caring for children, she built Early Bird as a safe, welcoming place that feels like home.
Her bilingual approach celebrates language and culture. Her love of cooking brings fresh, home-prepared meals to the children's days.
βMy mission is simple: to create a safe, educational, and loving space where every child feels at home.β
From creative projects and stories to movement, outdoor play and learning together, children have room to be curious, active and themselves.

At Early Bird, children enjoy healthy, home-cooked meals prepared with care by our team. Mealtime is another way we help children feel nourished, comfortable, and at home.

Letty wanted children to have room to move, climb, imagine and explore. With a Child Care Infrastructure Program grant from Business Oregon, she brought that dream to life through a dedicated outdoor playground.

She received recognition for 20 years of service at the Oregon Child Development Coalition in 2022, and Early Bird received a 2026 Oregon Spark commitment-to-quality certificate.
βThey enjoyed different activities, going outdoors, cooking meals, and small field trips. It's a family style vibe and my children always felt welcome.β
